Currently Listening
Awake (Special Edition, CD/DVD)

Well, for those of you who don't know, I have been having a really bad problem this summer with hives.  We finally figured that it had to be garlic, but we weren't sure, and the breakouts gotta fairly severe pretty quickly.  I went to the doctor last week to be recommended to an allergy specialist, and the doctor did a RAST test to see if I have antibodies against garlic in my system.  Today, I went to the allergy specialist.  He didn't have any garlic samples to test me with, so we talked for a while.  He came to the conclusion that it could be my thyroid or my liver.  So, I had 4 viles of blood drawn today to have 6 tests done.  I have another appointment next Tuesday when hopefully the results will be back from all the blood tests.  Thyroid problems run in my extended family, so I wouldn't be surprised if I did have a thyroid problem.  If it is this, I have to go to a thyroid specialist (endo-something doctor?) and be treated.  The problem is I am leaving for school three days after my doctor's appointment and have no clue when I will be home next.  This could be serious, so I don't want to wait to take care of it.  Please pray that the doctors figure out what is wrong with me and that if it is my thyroid I would somehow be able to get things situated with docotrs and appointments and school.  Thanks!  God bless!

So, I totally got hit on today at work by a cute guy.  The story is very enjoyable, so if you need a good laugh, read on.

I'm walking back from emtpying the trash at the end of the work day, thinking to myself: I shouldn't have worn a yellow shirt today.  It shows all of the dirt from the day, and now I look disgusting.  Looking up, I see the cute guy coming my way.  Now, everyone at work looks at each other and smiles hello when walking by.  So, I kind of give that half smile.

He stops me by asking, "Are you Irish?"

Me:"Yes."

Him: "On your mom or your dad's side?"

Me: "My dad's"

Him: "I'm Irish too.  My mom is Irish and my dad is Polish  (then I think he mumbled something inaudible about drinking but I couldn't be sure)  I'm going to the Irish festival this weekend."

Me: "Oh, really?" (hoping he isn't about to ask me to go)

Him: "Yeah.  I just wanted to say you are cute.  I finally worked up the balls to tell you that."

Me: "Oh, thanks."

Him: "I'm Ray by the way."

Me: "Ashlee"

Him: "Nice to meet you."

Me: "You too."

Him: "See, I'm Irish too." (points to the tatoo and writing on his leg)

Me: "Oh, yeah."

Awkward saying of goodbye follows.

I wanted to laugh really hard as I walked back to my work station, but I was afraid he would see me.  I had to wait until I was in my car to really let go.  Who says that, really?  Anyway, hope you were as amused by it as I was.

Conducting!!!

Wow!  I am actually posting two days in a row.  It's a miracle!  Well, today was my first day of work, and it actually went really well.  I was placed in the easiest section of the plant, and I won't have to ice my hands twice a night this summer!   It was really nice to have a lot of people welcome me back and be happy to see me.  With so many temp. workers in and out of the plant, you would think they would forget me easily, but there were people that I never even talked to that came up and said hello to me and welcome back.  Thank you, God, for making this transition back into the work force so much easier!

On another note, I went to church choir practice tonight b/c Julie asked me to sing for the last two weeks of choir since she would be short on sopranos (the world is coming to an end!).  Earlier today, she called me and asked me if I wanted to direct one of the pieces.  I said not really because I don't know them.  Tonight in rehearsal we sang through one of them which was semi-familiar to me b/c the choir had done it before.  Julie then goes, "Ashlee, would you like to conduct this now?"  I was like, whatever you want me to do.  So, I sight-conducted this piece.  Of course, it is simple and in 3/4, but I kept wanting to conduct it in 4/4.  Silly me.  Anyway, it went fairly well.  So, Julie wants me to conduct it in a week and a half for the church services on Sunday morning!!! Ahhh!  I am going to be singing on the worship team that same day.  Holy stress!!!!  It will be totally fun though and a great experience.  So, that's my life right now.

God Bless!

Well, I figure I should update since it's been months and months and months.  I got a job today.  I went to Ryan Staffing to fill out an application for temp. work for the summer, and they gave me a job right there.  Back at Eaton Corporation for the summer.  6:30am-2:30pm is really going to suck, but that's life.  They are moving to Mexico though, so I'm not sure how long I will be working there.  It may be just through June.  At this point, I don't really care.  So, I am back in the factory tomorrow- steel toed boots and safety glasses...  Anyway, other than that things are going just fine.

On another note, it's the Gilmore Girls Series finale tonight, and I am so sad.  Hayley and I will probably cry together.  At least I won't have to watch it by myself.  I will, however, be missing American Idol, which is sad but so worth it.

This summer is full of weddings.  Hayley and Paul July 21st.  Michelle and Kyle (L.A.!!!!) on July 14th.  And possibly others.  Craziness.

God Bless!
